Essential Equipment for Peak Climbing
- GEARS: Ropes, ice ax, ascender, headlamp, carabiners, trekking poles, altimeter, masks, climbing helmet, down sleeping bag, rucksacks.
- CLOTHING: Short and long sleeve shirts, fleece pullover, waterproof jacket, down jacket, gloves, sun cap, sunglasses, ski goggles, thermal trousers, waterproof trousers, climbing boots, heavy socks.
Peak Climbing Permit
The Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) has categorized peaks into Group “A” and Group “B” with varying permit fees based on the mountain group, season, and size of the climbing group.
- Group “A” Peaks: Includes Mt. Kyazo Ri, Mt. Cholatse, Mt. Langsisa Ri, etc. Fees range from USD 70 to USD 250 per person.
- Group “B” Peaks: Includes Mera Peak, Mt. HiunChuli, Mt. Kusum Kanguru, etc. Fees range from USD 70 to USD 400 per person.
